Ava's 6th Birthday Party

On Saturday we celebrated our almost 6 year old at the beach pool with 35 sweet friends and family members!  It was her biggest party and she declared it the best birthday EVER.  She had friends from church, school and dance it was a blast watching her run around with all of them.  She has grown up so much this past year.  It was a joy to share her birthday with so many that love her!
She woke up ready to party!
This was the first year I made her cupcakes.  I found a blue velvet mix that Ava declared 'Frozen' blue and since that was the theme I made 43, iced them all and placed on top our Frozen toppers.
Ava knew where she wanted each of them to go and she enjoyed decorating :-)
Hard to believe this sweet girl made me a Mommy 6 years ago!
Here are pics of birthday fun......

Rainy Days

We've had several cool rainy days this summer and while it boots us out of the pool, the kids have loved playing in it.  I took some pics of them outside a couple of weeks ago.  Ava loves to wear her rain boots and Keegan loves his rain coat so they enjoyed a morning of puddle jumping. I enjoyed watching them and doing a little puddle jumping myself :-)

July Happenings

The first week of July Ava had a blast at theatre dance camp.  She broke in her new jazz shoes, made props and costumes, and enjoyed time with her friends.
We were treated to a performance on the last day that included scenes from Annie, Cats and Chorus Line.  This is where Ava's heart is for sure!  It was so fun to watch her dance musical theatre :)

We spent July 4th at the beach pool with these 4 cuties...
(photo bombed by their Dads)
We spent the evening at the town's Red White and Boom celebration with our neighbors.
The band was great and the fireworks were awesome.  But the hundreds of chigger bites the four of us woke up to the next morning were not.  (Note to self:  Stay away from the Texas woods in July.  Even if you have two kids who can't wait behind 100 people to use the portable potty.)

Other fun stuff lately.....
Evenings at the Pool.   We like to take dinner and close it down :-)
And do silly things!
Half-priced shakes after 8 :-)
Saturday morning sillies
Tea Parties with sweet friends
7-11 (Free Slurpee Day!)
Mommy/Ava Day
Air Hockey & Lunch
And pedicures :-)
And to the Dollar Tree for envelopes.  Yes, my 6 year old begged for a box of envelopes because she was all out.  And how could she share her art/books/drawings with family and friends without them?

I've switched back to an iphone so Jeff set Ava up to imessage from her ipad.  Here's a clip of our first conversation last Friday afternoon.
I've never seen her so excited about anything!  She has since been given all of her grandparents' and Aunt Kara's numbers and she loves to text them throughout the day.
So surreal.  My first baby is 6 in just a few weeks!
