Halloween 2015

Our Halloween was Superhero themed this year.  We took Batman, Batgirl and Wonder Dog trick or treating with Supergirl and Wonder Woman on Saturday night.
These four ended up with SO MUCH candy!  It was quite a success.  They had the best time running from house to house :-)
Keegan and Presley enjoyed their costume parade and fall fest at school on Thursday!  The weather was perfect and aunt Kara and I stayed to work fall fest. These kiddos had the best time!

On Halloween Eve we carved pumpkins under the patio. It was a fun rainy night! Ava carved her own jack-o-lantern this year! She drew it, scooped it and cut it out. She was so proud! Jeff carved a Batman sign for Keegan while he decorated a little pumpkin. They were happy with the finished products :)
It was a great Halloween weekend!

Cheer

Ava and her sweet friends from her soccer team and school participated in the high school cheer clinic last month. This was her first year and she had so much fun learning chants and cheers for the football game performance.

These girls are such a precious group of friends. They are in the same class and on the same soccer team. Ava has had the best year with them! The girls had fun on the field with the big cheerleaders a couple of weeks ago but unfortunately most of their performance was rained out. They cheered under the bleachers while we waited on the rain delay and I have a great video I'll try to post. It was a fun but rainy night!

Ava loved every minute of cheer so we are gearing up for a season of upward cheer this winter with our friends :)

Pumpkin Patch Visit

We took our annual trip to the pumpkin patch on a cool Saturday morning a few weeks ago. We spent two hours playing and choosing our pumpkins. Here are some pics of our fun....

Bella

The Hutchisons have a new addition!  We adopted sweet Bella October 10th from a family that is moving out of the country.
She is a one and half year old maltipoo and we are smitten!
We had been on a couple of rescue waiting lists for months when I saw the ad for Bella and we knew she was the perfect dog for our family.  She is sweet, cuddly, playful, house-broken, hypoallergenic and non-shedding!  She bonded with us right away and she is so sweet with the kids. They love to take her for walks to the park and they LOVE when she sleeps in bed with them.  They've been good at taking turns.
Jeff bought this car seat for her after a few days.  Still cracks me up!  But she is so much more comfortable in it during car rides.  So sweet ;)
And she's ready for our super-hero themed Halloween!
She is so precious and although it's only been a few weeks it feel like she's been with us forever :)

September- School, Sports and Loss

So I'm just now getting around to posting a few September happenings. This school year is flying by and the kids are having a great year!  Here's a little of what we were up to last month....
Ava has a locker this year so we had a fun time shopping online and decorating the second week of school :-)
Keegan is loving his last year of preschool!  He is writing really well and recognizing several sight words.
Ava loves all the reading and writing she gets to do in second grade.  Writing creative stories is her favorite thing to do!  She was the first star student last month and had fun with her "all about me" poster.
We've been so busy with t-ball and soccer this season.  Ava loves playing soccer with her friends from school.  They are a great little team!  And this is Keegan's first season to play t-ball and soccer at the same time and it has worked out better than I thought.  Games and practices have rarely landed on the same days.  He loves both sports so much so I'm glad he's able to enjoy them both and improve with each season.  He's such an athlete already!
We took the kids to a Rangers game late September and enjoyed a cool Sunday afternoon game!  We always have the best time.  Keegan loves to watch the 'big players.'
September ended with great loss as our Grandaddy went Home to be with our Savior.  His girls and his wife of 66 years were with him as he left.  He leaves behind a great legacy and we like to picture him walking the golden streets like the young, healthy and handsome Navy man that he was.
We are thankful for his life, his love and the memories he has left us with.
We'll miss him until we see him again.
