We took our annual trip to the pumpkin patch on a cool Saturday morning a few weeks ago. We spent two hours playing and choosing our pumpkins. Here are some pics of our fun....

Bella
The Hutchisons have a new addition! We adopted sweet Bella October 10th from a family that is moving out of the country.
She is a one and half year old maltipoo and we are smitten!
We had been on a couple of rescue waiting lists for months when I saw the ad for Bella and we knew she was the perfect dog for our family. She is sweet, cuddly, playful, house-broken, hypoallergenic and non-shedding! She bonded with us right away and she is so sweet with the kids. They love to take her for walks to the park and they LOVE when she sleeps in bed with them. They've been good at taking turns.
Jeff bought this car seat for her after a few days. Still cracks me up! But she is so much more comfortable in it during car rides. So sweet ;)
And she's ready for our super-hero themed Halloween!
She is so precious and although it's only been a few weeks it feel like she's been with us forever :)
September- School, Sports and Loss
So I'm just now getting around to posting a few September happenings. This school year is flying by and the kids are having a great year! Here's a little of what we were up to last month....
Ava has a locker this year so we had a fun time shopping online and decorating the second week of school :-)
Keegan is loving his last year of preschool! He is writing really well and recognizing several sight words.
Ava loves all the reading and writing she gets to do in second grade. Writing creative stories is her favorite thing to do! She was the first star student last month and had fun with her "all about me" poster.
We've been so busy with t-ball and soccer this season. Ava loves playing soccer with her friends from school. They are a great little team! And this is Keegan's first season to play t-ball and soccer at the same time and it has worked out better than I thought. Games and practices have rarely landed on the same days. He loves both sports so much so I'm glad he's able to enjoy them both and improve with each season. He's such an athlete already!
We took the kids to a Rangers game late September and enjoyed a cool Sunday afternoon game! We always have the best time. Keegan loves to watch the 'big players.'
September ended with great loss as our Grandaddy went Home to be with our Savior. His girls and his wife of 66 years were with him as he left. He leaves behind a great legacy and we like to picture him walking the golden streets like the young, healthy and handsome Navy man that he was.
We are thankful for his life, his love and the memories he has left us with.
We'll miss him until we see him again.

First Day of School!
Yesterday was Ava's first day of second grade!
She was sad that summer ended but about a week ago she told me she was getting excited and ready to see her friends. We had play dates with friends from school over the summer and she's playing soccer with five girls in her class so I think she just feels at home now :-) She woke up ready for the big day!
She put her backpack and lunchbox in her locker, (yes, her LOCKER!) chatted with her teacher and waved goodbye as she sat down at her desk. She is so excited about the locker. We ordered fun accessories to decorate with next week. Here's a pic from meet the teacher on Thursday night...
She said it was a great day but I didn't get many more details than who she played with on the playground and sat with at lunch. She did say she really likes her teacher!
And today was Keegan's first day of his last year of preschool!
He's been ready to go back for about a month so he was all smiles this morning :-)
(All summer long Keegan has told us that he will be a lifeguard when he grows up...just like the ones at our pool. Ha!)Presley is in his class this year and he's so excited!
He walked put his backpack and lunchbox in his cubby and walked in with confidence. He said it was a good day, he ate all of his lunch and got to play on the playground twice ;-)
Here's a pic from his meet the teacher on Friday night....
I'm so thankful these kiddos are so excited for their new school year!
