Catching Up - January Happenings

January came and went so quickly! I thought I would post a few pics from my phone to try and catch up!
The week after Christmas we bought Keegan a corner tv stand for an old tv we had. It's perfect for his PlayStation gaming, and on this particular night, the Lego Movie. (note the Star Wars original movie posters framed on his wall.  Keegan is about all things Lego right now. He found these at Hobby Lobby and begged for them for days.)
Ava is loving her new desk. We painted a cork board to hang above and it completes her perfect little creative station :-)
Ava's elementary hosted an incoming kindergarten story and craft time the first week back from break. Keegan has several little buddies from t-ball and soccer (and little siblings of Ava's friends) that will be in his grade next year. He had a blast running around the library with all of them.
Ava and I have been cheering every weekend the last 6 weeks. Here are some pics before her first game day. My heart almost couldn't handle it.
She is having the best time cheering and dancing and she's blown me away with how fast she's learned everything. It's the sweetest time sharing this with her.
Just for fun.... My senior year squad circa 2001. Cheer was such a big part of my life for many years.
Ava's school hosted bingo night a few weeks ago and the kids had the best time! They enjoyed their friends and they both won good prizes. We couldn't believe the luck they were having with their bingo cards!
Ava sent her Flat Stanley cut out to San Antonio to visit our cousins in the hill country and he had so many adventures! He came back in a souvenir t shirt and Ava worked hard writing about each picture they sent and she was so proud of her final product :-)
The kids started Awana at church last month and we are working hard to memorize scriptures. This chalkboard from my best friend Amy sure helps throughout the week!
They meet for 2 hours on Sunday evenings and have the best time learning and playing.
And lastly, we celebrated Grandmama's 89th birthday on January 24th. We had a great party and dinner. We are so thankful for this beautiful lady!

Christmas Break part 3

The day after Christmas we met Nana and Gramps at studio movie grill to see the new Star Wars movie. We are big fans of the Star Wars saga and The Force Awakens did not disappoint! This guy was so ready....
We took the kids to skate at the galleria but the line was about a mile long so we settled on lunch, playground and American Girl store.

Then we took them to skate at the rink near our home the next day. They love ice skating!

We all performed many a puppet show!

Keegan wore his new boots the rest of the break.
We played outside until the cold weather came.
And we just relaxed in pjs enjoying late bedtimes no alarms.  Christmas break is so special but getting back in the groove was not easy on any of us last week. I think this picture says it all. Bella and I were equally excited about the 7am alarm and three loads of laundry last Tuesday.

Christmas Break part 2 - Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

We had such a special Christmas Eve this year. We were so happy to have Grandmama with us! We had a beautiful time of worship and a great night of dinner, presents and Karaoke at Grammy and Poppy's house.

The kids were up at exactly 7am on Christmas morning and ran into the living room ready to see what Santa brought them!  Keegan found his new Batcave!
And Ava found her new desk!  It was kind of hard to miss :-)
It only took them about 10 minutes to tear into all of Santas gifts.  I think Jeff and I repeated "Hold on! Let's take turns!" about 20 times.  They were maniacs.
Hulk hands, this captain america shirt and the new marvel superhero game were a few of Keegan's favorites.
And of course all of Ava's art and desk supplies were big winners for her :)
After playing for a bit and having breakfast, we headed over to Nana and Gramps' house for a fun Christmas Day.  Gramps met Keegan at the door with matching hulk hands :-)
We enjoyed Christmas dinner and lots of play outside this year in 70 degree temps!

It such a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.  We all had the best time just enjoying family and eating great food,  It truly is the most wonderful time of year!
