Sea World 2015

We left Ava's dance recital and headed for San Antonio for a few days.  Ava just finished a unit on Texas history at school and she wanted to see the state capital and walk through the Alamo.  We had lunch on the Riverwalk and spent a day at Sea World.  It was such a fun trip.  The kids were at great ages for Sea World this year.  This was our fourth time to go but it was like the first for them because neither one of them remembered it!  Here are a some pictures of our trip....

Ready for a day of Sea World!

Sea Lion Show
Both kids were able to ride the Shamu Express and we rode it over and over again! They loved it and the lines were short so we would hop back on!
I love that it looks like Jeff and I took pics of each other riding the little roller coaster.  You can't see the kids in either picture.  Ha!
We saw three really great shows and between the sitting in the splash zones and playing in the splash park we stayed pretty wet all day!
And we were in the pool the rest of the trip!

And a fun dinner at BJ's with San Antonio cousins!  Another fun San Antonio trip in the books!

Ava's Dance Recital 2015

Ava danced in her last dance recital a couple of weeks ago!  This was her fourth recital and while I've loved watching her grow in ballet, tap and now jazz, she has decided it's time to try something new.  She's loving her indoor soccer league so far and she wants to give gymnastics/tumbling a try as well.  Whatever she chooses we pray she will continue to build confidence and let her little light shine!
Here are some pictures of her last recital - Jazz dance to 'Hot, Hot, Hot.'
As every year, we were blessed by the presence of our extended family watching our girl dance her heart out for the last time.
We are thankful for the years of dance we've had and thankful for this daughter that I prayed for long before she was born.
Watching her grow is such a privilege and joy!
Here's a link to the video!

First Week of Summer!

The kids finished school a few weeks ago with fun parties and outings.  They had such amazing teachers that loved on them all year and they both learned so much!  Keegan finished the school year with a pizza party and I snapped this pic of him with Mrs. Sherri.  I'm so glad she was able to be both of my kiddos' first teacher!
Ava had a fun science experiment party to end her school year.  Her teacher decided to celebrate summer birthdays the last week of school and this was her day :)
We celebrated the last day of school with our school's flag lowering ceremony then we headed out for yogurt with a group of friends.
Second Graders!!
Both kids wanted to play indoor soccer this summer so we headed to both practices after yogurt on our first night of summer.  They are having a great time playing!
Here's Keegan before his first game.  He was excited and fearless.  He scored his first goal toward the end of the game that Saturday!
(First Goal!)

Here are some pics of the rest of the week....
Presley's Dance Recital
Great Grandpa Hutch and Linda drove from Florida to stay for the week!

Sprinkler + Trampoline = 2.5 hours of fun (for all 3 of us :)

A fun trip to the SeaLife Aquarium with the Smitherman crew....

First trip to the beach pool....

And lastly, Keegan's t-ball season celebration!
Keegan was awarded the 'game ball' by his coach at the end of one of the last games.  All of the other players had received it and the season was coming to an end so for two straight weeks Keegan would talk about getting the ball.  He even screamed it from the field one night.  "Mom, I just have to get that ball tonight!" He had everyone cracking up and all of our family and team cheered so loudly when it was his.  I don't think I've ever seen him so happy.  "I told you I was gonna get that ball." was his statement to me :-)
His coach had a trophy/hotdog party after his last game.  These little guys made up all 7 rained out games in June.  It was hot and tough to make up 2 games a week but they did it!  And they had the best time doing it.  Keegan made some good friends and is leaving this season stronger than he was the last.  He was so very proud of his first trophy.  And we are so very proud of him!
And on a funny note, this is how Ava felt about the last two weeks of t ball games....
She literally fell asleep reading a book at one of his last games.  To say we were busy that week would be an understatement.  And things haven't really slowed down!  More pics to come :-)
