Keegan's 4th Birthday

Keegan's birthday was yesterday and we celebrated with pizza and games at Chuck e Cheese.  It's surreal that my baby is four years old.  He has grown into a smart, active and lovable little boy.  He loves his family and friends so much.  He loves to go to school and play t-ball.  He loves anything superhero or ninja turtle these days and he's become really good at his playstation games.
He was so excited about his birthday this year and he had the best day!  We are so thankful of our little man :)

Snow Days

We finally had snow (and not just ice) last weekend.  It snowed huge flakes for hours on Friday.  It started around 9 when Keegan and I were headed to buy groceries.  We walked out of the store a little after 10 to a sea of white snow.   I had to brush off my windows to drive home and it snowed pretty much the entire day!  I picked Ava up from school at 11:30 and we layered up to play for a while.  Keegan only lasted for about 10 minutes and he watched us from the window.  Ha!
But Ava loved every minute of the snow play.
Building Snow Castles
And Making Snow Angels
We played outside for an hour and a half Saturday morning with our neighbors.  Ava was clearly more into it than Keegan but he stayed outside and played with us the whole time.  We built a snowman, pulled the kids around and threw snowballs.
We named our snowman 'Pat' because we couldn't agree on a gender.  Ha!
Then we thawed out at Cracker Barrell :-)  It was a memorable weekend!  I'm always so thankful for a couple of snow days.  And now we are ready for spring!

February Happenings

We had a lot of spring-like weather this month and enjoyed the warm weather outside.  We spent a Sunday afternoon at a park a couple of weeks ago.  Ava rode her new scooter around all the trails.
Keegan has no interest in scooters or bikes.  He prefers to run everywhere he goes!
Ava even rode her scooter home from school the next day and I rode my bike behind her.  It was so much fun :)
I was replacing the kids' portraits around the house last week.  This side-by-side made my heart ache.

Both of the kids had fun Valentine parties the following week!
Ava was so proud of her Valentine box.  She worked on it at home all week and all she let me do was cut the slot.  She wanted it to be her own!  This is Ava's happy place.
Ava's two best friends Maddie and Caroline.....
She brought home a lot of Valentine themed work on Friday but this one made me smile the most.
And we did have a fun Valentine Weekend!  We let them open their gifts the night before.
A robe for Ava and a new playstation game for Keegan.
(Note the boys playing behind her.  My boys are gamers now.)
Dunkin Heart Donuts with our Valentines....
We had a Valentine dinner out with the other Hutchison 4.
This is the only pic I have....A little brotherly game of 007.
We had a sleepover with Presley the next night.
I was in the presence of an unlikely trio that included Batgirl, the Easter Bunny and Buzz Lightyear.
Our Grandma/Great Grandma Piper passed on Wednesday and we celebrated her homecoming yesterday with a beautiful memorial service.  Our kids were so blessed to get to know and spend time with their great-grandmother.  We are so thankful for our years with her. She will be greatly missed.

January

Well, this month was a much slower pace than December.  I have very few pictures.  We haven't done much at all this January except get back into a routine.  The first week back is always tough.  I find that it helps when I lay out clothes and backpacks the night before!
Last weekend we took the kids for current studio portraits.  I can't believe they are 6 and almost 4!) They were practicing their smiles...
It was a long holiday weekend and the weather was beautiful so we played a little tennis.  Keegan chased our balls and Ava took pictures of us and portraits of her doll.
I found 20 different poses on my phone that night.  She cracks me up.
We celebrated Grandmama's 88th birthday on Saturday! These silly great-grands ran around inside and out all day.  They always have the best time together.
It was a great day of fun, family and celebrating a wonderful lady.
What started with these 2 is now a family of 30.  What a legacy!
