July Happenings

The first week of July Ava had a blast at theatre dance camp.  She broke in her new jazz shoes, made props and costumes, and enjoyed time with her friends.
We were treated to a performance on the last day that included scenes from Annie, Cats and Chorus Line.  This is where Ava's heart is for sure!  It was so fun to watch her dance musical theatre :)

We spent July 4th at the beach pool with these 4 cuties...
(photo bombed by their Dads)
We spent the evening at the town's Red White and Boom celebration with our neighbors.
The band was great and the fireworks were awesome.  But the hundreds of chigger bites the four of us woke up to the next morning were not.  (Note to self:  Stay away from the Texas woods in July.  Even if you have two kids who can't wait behind 100 people to use the portable potty.)

Other fun stuff lately.....
Evenings at the Pool.   We like to take dinner and close it down :-)
And do silly things!
Half-priced shakes after 8 :-)
Saturday morning sillies
Tea Parties with sweet friends
7-11 (Free Slurpee Day!)
Mommy/Ava Day
Air Hockey & Lunch
And pedicures :-)
And to the Dollar Tree for envelopes.  Yes, my 6 year old begged for a box of envelopes because she was all out.  And how could she share her art/books/drawings with family and friends without them?

I've switched back to an iphone so Jeff set Ava up to imessage from her ipad.  Here's a clip of our first conversation last Friday afternoon.
I've never seen her so excited about anything!  She has since been given all of her grandparents' and Aunt Kara's numbers and she loves to text them throughout the day.
So surreal.  My first baby is 6 in just a few weeks!

June Randoms

This week we say goodbye to June!  It's been a very overcast/rainy month and the four of us have had stomach bugs and colds so I'm hoping for a great July.  We did, however, have some June fun.  Here are some pics of what we've been up to....
First Day of VBS
The kids loved all four days!  I taught Ava's kinder class this year and loved watching her enjoy it all.
My friend Molly had Keegan's class and she took some sweet pics through the week and shared them with me.  Presley joined him this year and they had the best time!
We headed to East TX to visit Grandmama and Grandaddy and see a lot of family.
It was a fun day and the kids enjoyed running around with all of their cousins.
We ended the trip at a decades long family-favorite restaurant :-)
Lunch date at McAlisters with these two...
Grammy & Poppy brought back these T shirts from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the kids want to wear them all the time.  They sleep in them almost every night.
Enjoying a little evening cuddle & movie time :-)
And today is Ava's first day of dance camp!
It's a jazz & tap musical theatre camp this year so I'm pretty sure she will have an awesome four days :-)

Dance Recital 2014

Ava's third dance recital was on Sunday!  We had rehearsal in the morning, a father's day lunch and recital that evening.  It's always such a fun day.  This was Ava's last year in this 3-6 year old show. (Insert emotional mommy sniffles.)  Next year she will be in the big girl show.
She's also taking a break from ballet and tap after 3 years.  Ava wants to try jazz and I feel pretty confident that she's going to love it given how theatrical she is!
Her class was the oldest in the show and they were so great! Ava has danced with most of these girls the last three years. It's just amazing to see how much they have learned and how much they have grown.
Morgan & Ava
Ballet Performance to 'The Sound of Music'
Tap Dance to 'Lonely Goatherd' from The Sound of Music
After the show.....Flowers from Daddy, Nana & Gramps, Grammy & Poppy, Kara & Uncle and sweet Presley.  We are so blessed with amazing family!
A special Father's Day for this amazing Dad
We couldn't be any prouder of this sweet girl.  What a joy to watch her grow and celebrate her achievements!  And what a blessing to share it with family we love so much.
We love you sweet Ava and we are so very thankful for you.
